“The most important thing she’d learned over the years was there was no way to be a perfect mother and a million ways to be a good one.”
― Jill Churchill
There is always so much pressure as a mom to do things “right.” Or to BE something that society has said you need to be. We try to chase that dream of being the perfect mother raising perfect children, but we tend to forget that our kids are already uniquely perfect as they are, and they don’t need a perfect mom, they need THEIR mom.
Most of us moms are always trying our best to keep up and to stay afloat, be there for all. There are times when I question myself if I am perhaps doing everything wrong. How do I know if I am making the right choices when it comes to raising my kids? What is too much or not enough? The truth is, there is no correct answer. We are humans, and we are all perfectly different in our own ways. There is no one right answer for all.
I know I am not alone in this, and you should all know that as well – we are all in this together! Yes! you are doing a great job even though sometimes you don’t feel like you are. You are doing a great job even though nobody tells you so. Mama, you got this! and you can do this!
We all need a little encouragement sometimes, especially now that our kids have become our co-workers, and we have suddenly become their school teachers at home. So next time when you feel stressed because you think you are screwing everything up, just remember, in the words of Jill Churchill – there is no way to be a perfect mom and a million ways to be a good one. Happy Monday!
